Last year when I bought the iMac, I made the decision that it wasn’t a gaming platform, and I would use the consoles for my gaming needs. Happy Mac Day !

Well after much consideration, I finally took to plunge and bought a 27″ iMac. I’ve been running Mac OSX on my PC now for a good few months, and I’ve also got a MacBook Pro. Ok, just a quick blog post, but some people may find this useful . A couple of years ago I discovered, it was possible to run the mighty Mac OSx operating system on hardware that wasn’t Apple. As the versions of Mac OSx have come out, newer of the custom install disk have been released, the community has grown, and custom drivers have been written for the non-Mac hardware. Over the last 2 years, I’ve tried multiple disk and had varied success….however, I’ve finally cracked it ! Halo Wars

Last weekend I noticed that Halo Wars demo was available on the Microsoft Marketplace, and though, it’s an RTS on a console, it’s going to be terrible, but I downloaded, and really enjoyed. I’ve tried other RTS’s on the console, eg C&C, but felt that they don’t work as well as on mouse and keyboard. I’m the kind of person who has groups of units mapped to my 1-9 key for quick select, and like to attack multiple enemies at one..this isn’t possible on the console, or should I say, not as easy as hitting a number key. Windows 7 on main machine

I’ve decided to give Windows 7 another go, as there have been a few driver updates. This time in changed my SATA2 drive to Native mode instead of AHCI, and the install went flawless. Once up, Windows downloaded 5 updates, and had 4 additional drivers for my Bluetooth dongle, Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN, ATI 2900 Graphics card, Razer Copperhead gaming mouse. Apple Mighty Mouse Unboxing

The Mighty mouse is a very elagant design, no visable buttons on the top and the “squeeze” buttons on the size. The scroll wheel is a 360 degrees rollerball. In the box Unboxed The underneath and that’s all there is to show really ! I’m still getting used to the mouse, I don’t think it’s as responsive as my PC mouse (however that is a Razor 2000DPI Gaming mouse), but the 360 degree scroll wheel does make up for it.
