Official Xbox One Digital TV Tuner

As I was an early adopter of the HD TV, I currently have a huge 52″ 60Hz TV sat in the corner of my room, with a Standard Definition built in digital tuner. As I rarely watch live TV (as I tend to mostly steaming content), I’ve never been able to justify the upgrade to a TV with Freeview HD built in. I’ve looked at various PVR solutions, but again for the few occasions I want to watch a live channel in HD, it was hard to justify the price tag. Then Microsoft announced the HD Freeview digital tuner at just … Continue reading Official Xbox One Digital TV Tuner

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter

Being a fan of being able to plug in a pair of headphones into the bottom of my Dualshock 4 controller on the PS4, buying the Stereo Headset Adapter for the Xbox One controller was a no brainer. As I tend to need use my Tritton headset for late night gaming, I’ve had to turn down the TV when it started to get late and using the provided Xbox chat mic for my online gaming. This device allows me to plug any head/earphones into the 3.5mm jack on the bottom and direct all sound and chat via them. The controls … Continue reading Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter

Tritton Universal Kunai Wireless Headset

With all the hype about the Sony wireless headphones for the PS4, and Microsoft’s headphones for the Xbox One, I decided to see if I could find something a little more universal. I had originally pre ordered the Sony PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 which provides 7.1 virtual surround sound, and also the Official Xbox One Stereo Headset, however, after a little research and cancelled them both. The cancelation was nothing to do with the products themselves, I just realised once the ‘new shiny’ hype had died down , I only occasionally needed to use headphone. This is normally … Continue reading Tritton Universal Kunai Wireless Headset

Xbox One

It seems a lifetime ago since the Xbox One was announced, and today I finally took delivery of my very own next generation console. The past six months have been a very interesting for gamers, seeing the Microsoft change their approach multiple times in response to feedback from the gaming community, and now we get to see if it was all worth it. So first the hardware, the Xbox One itself is a heavy beast, and rather chunky too, noticeably heavier than the Xbox 360. The power supply is also a massive brick, again noticeably larger than the 360s, … Continue reading Xbox One

Xbox 360 Kinect

I’ve been interested in the Kinect ever since it was announced at the 2009 E3 show, under the name of Project Natal. I was able to pre-order back in September, so me being the early adopter I am, ordered it straight away. Well todays the day, and it’s finally release day for the Kinect, and I have to say I’ve pleasantly surprised. I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I was extremely dubious of how good this would be, as y previous experience with any camera controlled titles, have been a bit rubbish to be honest. The most recent one I … Continue reading Xbox 360 Kinect

Xbox 360 Halo Reach Edition

Now anybody that knows me, will know I’m a sucker for shiny things, and nothing comes more shiny that this limited edition Xbox 360s. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a 2nd xbox for a while now, and when I found out that the Kinect device required a special port, (or an adapter), I thought I’d hang fire until this bad boy was release. Currently I have the Xbox 360 Elite, and to be honest I’m very happy with it, I’ve rarely had a problem, and defiantly not had any red rings of death. So, today’s the day, … Continue reading Xbox 360 Halo Reach Edition

ted (Television Episode Downloader)

If you are anything like me (and god help you if you are :)), and use the internet as a PVR, then this software will be a god send to you. I’ve just recently ordered a Mac Mini to replace my last remaining Windows machine, and thought I’d better check if I could still do what I do now. Currently my Dell machine, sits in the corner, and is used as my media server, my iTunes server and my torrent machine. Currently I have uTorrent installed, which downloads each episode using the RSS Feed option. Each of the RSS feeds … Continue reading ted (Television Episode Downloader)

Wolverine finally beat

About 2 months ago I downloaded the demo of Wolverine on my PS3, and loved it !, However with not seeing the film, I wasn’t willing to buy the full game in case of spoilers. About a month ago, I finally got my butt into gear and and went to the cinema, and say Wolverine…which was an ok film. About 3 weeks ago, I was in my local Tesco’s and noticed that it was available on the Xbox 360 for £25 !…Bargain. Luckily I have both consoles so bought it. How is it ?…It’s fantastic !, I read many reviews, … Continue reading Wolverine finally beat
