Apple Airport Extreme

As you are probably aware, only a few days ago I got the Airport Express to bridge my upstairs and downstairs network. I liked the device so much, I bought a second one so I could have an Airtunes device in the kitchen. I was going to by a 3rd, but though it would probably be best to just replace my Netgear DGN2000 and Airport Express in the front room, with an Airport Exteme. Well today’s the day, and my new shiny iPhone 4 is here ! Just a little bit of background. About 2 and a half years ago, I bought myself a 2nd Generation iPod Touch 32Gb. Since then, I’ve bought a 2x MacBook Pro’s, 2 x 27″ iMacs,  a Mac Mini, and a iPhone 3GS, a Time Capsule, and think I can be officially called an Apple fanboy. Apple Airport Express

Like most people, I have multiple devices that require internet access, however I hate having to run cables. My main problem has always been the upstairs, downstairs divide. Not wanting to run a cable through the floorboards, I’ve tried multiple solutions from wireless access points, to the Powerline adapters . Now don’t get me wrong, the Powerline mains adapter does work ok, and it’s only very occasionally I get buffering, however I thought I’d give the Airport Express a try. Apple Time Capsule

As mention in my Happy Mac Day post I was awaiting delivery of the Apple Time Capsule ,and as assumed it did arrive today. I have to say, Apple once again made setting up and installing this device an absolute pleasure ! Below are the unboxing pics ..and finally a picture of it inplace Now in true Apple style, the setup was flawless, I put it on the shelf, I plugged it in, and that was it ! Happy Mac Day !

Well after much consideration, I finally took to plunge and bought a 27″ iMac. I’ve been running Mac OSX on my PC now for a good few months, and I’ve also got a MacBook Pro.
