I’ve been looking for some kind of portable iPhone dock for a while now. I currently have the ability to charge my phone in most rooms either by docking it in an alarm clock, or in the front of a TV, or just by putting it in the dock connected to my mac. The only problem with the ones I have is, a, they aren’t portable, and b, the sound quality isn’t that great. Same as most people who were fortune enough to get their hands on a iPhone 4 on release day, I ordered a bumper case too. Now grated, this is essentially £25 for a bit of rubber that surrounds the iPhone, but it really works. The bumper itself is rubber on the front and back, with hard plastic in the middle. When fitted, it lifts the iPhone about a millimeter from the desk, stopping it from getting scratched. It also gives additional protection on the corners and sides. Well today’s the day, and my new shiny iPhone 4 is here ! Just a little bit of background. About 2 and a half years ago, I bought myself a 2nd Generation iPod Touch 32Gb. Since then, I’ve bought a 2x MacBook Pro’s, 2 x 27″ iMacs,  a Mac Mini, and a iPhone 3GS, a Time Capsule, and think I can be officially called an Apple fanboy. As I mentioned in my previous post (Vectra SRI CDTi), I was bugged that it didn’t have an MP3 player. Well I thought, maybe I can change the head unit, or pull this one out, and see if it had any auxiliary sockets at the back, then I thought….Ooooo, why don’t I just get one of the FM transmitter thingys. The Universal Dock Adaptor

Well, I have to say I’m impressed with this doc. I like most people tried to do things on the cheap, and bought a dock from Ebay. It was a genuine Apple dock, however not for Touch 2nd Gen. It did work, however fitment was sloppy and the doc adapter didn’t fit.
